What if you could live your life as though success was inevitable? What if you knew with absolute certainty you would achieve most of your goals no matter how many times you fail along the way? How would that change the way you think, feel and act every day? These are the opening words of our friend and fellow author Thibaut Meurisse's new book, Success is Inevitable . (Available right now for the launch price of just $0.99 cents.) The book, as the opening questions suggest, invites you to live your life as though success is inevitable for you. "I want you to develop a level of confidence and certainty you've never experienced before, and I want to help you expect success and happiness to manifest in your life. Imagine how much better your life would be if you understood and felt that, at a deeper level and in the long term, success is inevitable for you," writes Thibaut in the introduction. My favorite part of this intriguing book is Part III, which details 17 Laws of Success , including the "law of long-term thinking, which states that as you develop the habits of long-term thinking, you will become far more successful in all areas of your life." According to Thibaut, one of the best predictors of success is your ability to think long term. Highly successful people project themselves into the future often. They hold a compelling vision they can't wait to make happen and move toward their goals with enthusiasm, confidence and determination. They follow a clear, written plan to reach their vision. I (Nils) have written on the importance of having a vision in an article a while back, so I definitely agree with Thibaut. If you look at the most successful people in the world, you'll see that they all had a vision they were working toward. John F. Kennedy famously dreamed of putting a man on the moon. Eleanor Roosevelt had a vision of a world of equal opportunity for women and minorities. Nelson Mandela had a vision for the eradication of racism and for the establishment of a constitutional democracy in South Africa. More recent examples include Arnold Schwarzenegger, who had a vision of becoming a body-building champion and a huge movie star , Roger Federer, who had a vision of becoming the best tennis player of the world, or Madonna, who had the vision of becoming a great pop star. And let's not forget Steve Jobs, one of the great visionaries of our time, who was famous for saying, "If you are working on something exciting that you really care about, you don't have to be pushed. The vision pulls you." So, what great future are you striving toward? What best possible life can you imagine? Consider all of the relevant areas of your life, such as your career, academic work, relationships, hobbies, and/or health. What would happen in these areas of your life in your best possible future? What would your ideal future look like? Put differently, what's your vision? This is something you'll want to think about frequently and refine over time. (That is, if you want to reach your greatest potential and become the best possible version of yourself.) Now, if you want to learn more about the power of long-term thinking and want to discover the other 16 Laws of Success , check out Thibaut's book on Amazon . It's available for the launch price of just $0.99 right now. As always, thanks for reading! :-) To a great future, Nils & Jonas P.S.
